About Deliaphonic

Deliaphonic is a flagship project produced by The Tin Music and Arts with local Delia enthusiasts

 Martin Leape and Alex Miles.

It is an annual celebration of the life and work of Delia Derbyshire, usually around the anniversary of her birth, which takes place in her home town of Coventry.

On the 5th May 2017, what would have been the 80th anniversary of Delia Derbyshire’s birth day, The Tin Music and Arts and Synthcurious held their first event at Coventry New Cathedral.

We marked the life and legacy of this remarkable woman with an event involving artists she worked with and collaborated with, as well as leading electronic artists of today who are directly influenced by her work.

The New Cathedral, built in the Modernist style  is both a symbol of peace and reconciliation, and was the perfect setting for the culmination of our celebration of such an inspirational person.

In 2018, the 2nd Deliaphonic took place in St John the Baptist Church.  In 2019 we took over the Herbert Art Gallery and for a special City of Culture edition in 2022 we return to Coventry Cathedral.
